William “Bill”  Michael Harris, born in Philadelphia, the first of two sons on September 10, 1963 to Mrs. Pauline Harris and his departed father William Harris. Bill enjoyed childhood with his parents, brother, and extended family. He received his formal education and early life experiences, in the Philadelphia Public School District, and attended M. L. King High School. He loved spending time at pools as a lifelong Lifeguard and was employed with Bayada Adult Healthcare Services as a health care provider for several years, until his own health began to decline. It was second nature for him to care for and address the needs of family, loved ones, church members, neighbors, and friends.

Bill joined Philippian Baptist, March 2013, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Clayton D. Furlow and was assigned to the position, Director of the Youth Athletic Ministry. He was dedicated to the youth and especially to the boy’s basketball team. Bill recruited and coached other neighborhood boys to play ball and to represent Philippian in citywide and in community games. Bill exemplified professionalism with a positive attitude and contagious smile, sharing love and a never-ending bubbling personality with zest and vigor. His employment record includes but not limited to: A HealthCare Provider, a city Certificated Lifeguard after receiving training from the American Red Cross and became a swimming instructor to help youth in his community learn to swim. Graciously, bringing his wealth of talents to teach, mentor and direct numerous children, unselfishly, he gave his time, resources, talents and love to each student.

Bill has departed this earthly life but left to honor his life and legacy; his mother Pauline Harris, son Michael Shipp (Daniela), brother Todd Harris (Briann), nieces and nephew Asha, Jordan, and Jason Harris, family, co-workers and community friends to include his Philippian Church Family.
